Description
This workshop will take approximately 1.5 hours, from 10-11:30am on Aug 22. In a small group, you will harvest your own flowers to create an arrangement with your blooms, learn the basics of designing an arrangement, and take your masterpiece home with you! Price includes all the supplies you will need to create an arrangement, including the vase (though you are welcome to bring your own vase if you prefer).
To bring: please wear closed toe footwear as dropping sharp snips on unprotected toes may result in serious injury. A hat and sunscreen, bug spray, or rain jacket depending on the weather. You may wish to bring gardening gloves to protect your nails or hands.
Flowers are happy to be cut in the rain, and there is a tent for the arranging portion of the workshop should it be raining. For this reason, workshops will continue rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. In the event of thunderstorms, tornado warnings, or other extreme weather, Rae Country Farm reserves the right to notify participants by 8am the day of the workshop and will offer either a refund, or if there are remaining dates available, to reschedule to another date. Rescheduling is not guaranteed. Decision to reschedule a workshop rests with the hosting farm – personal decisions not to attend will not be rescheduled or refunded. If you become unable to attend, you may send somebody in your place.
Children under the age of 8 are not suitable for this activity, as it involves the use of sharp snips and being in a garden with tripping hazard. Kids 8+ are welcome to participate provided they are accompanied by a guardian who is responsible for handling their snips. Tickets must be purchased for each person attending, with the exception of infants. Infants not yet walking who are in car seats/strollers or carried on your person are welcome free of charge. Animals other than service dogs are not permitted at the farm. Use of strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs are possible, but all rows may not be passable and there are no paved paths. Washroom facilities consist of an outhouse.
